Professor Dafydd Thomas MA MD FRCP (Director and Chairman)
Previously a Professor of Stroke Medicine and Senior Neurologist at St Mary’s NHS Trust, Consultant Neurologist at Windsor Hospitals and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square. Dafydd is a Trustee of The Stroke Association and ex-governor of The National Society for Epilepsy.
Dafydd has been on the Board of a number of successful companies providing MRI services. He is currently also a director of D-Gen Limited, an Imperial College spin-out company focused on techniques associated with human prion diseases.
Professor Wladyslaw Gedroyc MBBS MRCP FRCR (Director)
Personal Chair in Radiology at Imperial College London, Consultant Radiologist at St Mary’s NHS Trust, Medical Director of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Units at St Mary’s NHS Trust.
Wladyslaw has over 70 papers published in peer reviewed journals, mostly on MR-related topics. These include multiple research papers on interventional MRI and on the development of MRgFUS in various clinical situations. He is an international expert on MR-guided Interventional techniques.
Dr Andrew Wright, MA MBBS FRCP FRCR (Director)
Consultant Radiologist at St Mary’s NHS Trust (formerly Consultant Radiologist at Western General Hospital, Edinburgh) and Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London.
Andrew has published widely on aspects of CT and MR imaging and is currently the Head of CT at St Mary’s NHS Trust. He is clinical lead of Lindo Wing Radiology LLP, a formal parternship of St Mary’s Hospital’s radiologists providing imaging services.
Professor Lesley Regan MD FRCOG (Director)
Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at St Mary’s Hospital.
Lesley has a national and international reputation in her field of Reproductive Medicine. She has been involved in pioneering MRgFUS treatment of uterine fibroids from the start of the research programme at St Mary’s Hospital over three years ago.
Nigel Stokes M Eng MBA (Company Secretary)
Nigel holds an M.Eng from Imperial College and an MBA from London Business School. Working initially in corporate and institutional banking, Nigel has for the past five years been actively involved with a number of spin-out companies at Imperial College including deltaDOT (Company Secretary and Financial Controller), and D-Gen Limited (Financial Director and Company Secretary). His principal role at present is as Company Secretary at Visbion Limited, a medical imaging software company.
Casey Murray (Unit Manager)
Casey holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of London and was previously based at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square and Imperial College London, involved in the neurogenetics and clinical trial projects in human prion diseases. She has also held both public and private sector business and finance administration roles.
Other Staff
The MR Therapy Centre employs two full-time senior radiographers, a nurse practitioner with specific expertise in MRgFUS and radiological procedures, and a receptionist. We also have two medically qualified research fellows attached to our unit, one in gynaecology and one in radiology.
All our staff work very closely with the radiology department at St Mary’s NHS Trust and the private inpatient and outpatient facility at the Lindo Wing.
