A Non-Invasive Fibroid Treatment Backed by Leading Research

Fibroids are common forms of growths in the uterus and can affect 20-30% of all women. Some fibroids are asymptomatic, but in many cases fibroids are responsible for severe symptoms, including pain, very heavy menstrual bleeding (flooding and clots), urinary problems, pressure on the bowel and bladder and abdominal swelling. Some fibroids can be the size of a 5 month pregnancy! In other cases, the bleeding can lead to anaemia. It is also possible that fibroids can lead to difficulties in conceiving or pregnancy.

There are several conventional treatments available for fibroids. In the most extreme cases, hysterectomy (removal of the womb) is carried out. However this is major surgery and therefore not an ideal option for many sufferers. Less invasive or non-invasive treatments are also available. MRI-guided Focussed Ultrasound, offered in the UK only by the MR Therapy Centre, is a non-invasive option that uses sound waves to ablate the fibroids without any use of surgery. As a result recovery time is short, and you are back on your feet the same day, and back to normal activities within a day or two.

Please use this website as your guide to finding the best treatment for you in the UK, and please do not hesitate to contact us for any help.
