Prices and Payment
The MR Therapy Centre is a private clinic available to patients who are both self-funding or who have appropriate medical insurance. MRgFUS is not currently available on the NHS, although some patients have been successful in obtaining “Special Cases” funding from their Primary Care Trusts (PCT). Please follow the link if you would like more advice on PCT funding.
Self Pay MRI Charges
1 body part: £675.00
2 body part: £925.00
3 body part: £1,175.00
4 body part: £1,425.00
5 body part: £1,675.00
Add £250 per additional body part.
Gadolinium (when required):
< 15ml: £120.00
> 15ml: £175.00
Hard copy films:
£25 administration fee plus £5 per film.
A complimentary CD copy of MR images is given to all patients.
Medically insured patients should bring their full membership details and pre-authorisation number with them to their appointment. Failure to bring the correct information may result in payment needing to be made personally or the cancellation of your appointment.
MR-Guided Focused Ultrasound
Baseline MRI scan: £675.00
Review of images from another hospital to assess suitability for treatment: £50.00
MRgFUS Treatment: £4,400.00
Six month follow-up MRI scan with intravenous contrast if clinically required: £795.00
Because MRgFUS is an innovative therapy that has only been available since 2002, not all patients are routinely being funded by their medical insurance company. Insured patients should discuss this with their medical insurer to establish whether cover will be provided. Written confirmation of your insurer’s intention to fund the treatment will be required in advance of your appointment.
Payment Methods
We are able to accept all major credit or debit cards (apart from American Express or Amex), bank or building society cheque, cash or BACS payment. Cheques should be made payable to “Saint Mary’s Therapy and Imaging Ltd”.
